BLACK SEA ....blind vision

It's all about money. What do it takes to get anyone corrupted? Living in a capitalist world makes every person dream to achieve a status or quality of life. Ruled by big enterprises, employees depend on their salaries and management decisions at their work. So what happens when you spend and dedicate your life working for someone just to be left with nothing from them?

"Black sea" (2015), is the answer to that. When a man is terminated by his employee, a big company, without any reason, his life turns into a rabbit hole as he watches his son having a life with his mom that he can't afford. So when a friend approaches him to propose a treasure hunt that might sound crazy but when the facts make all reason, they just need a sponsor to make it happen.

This quest is under the sea, at the black sea to be precise, sinked in an old nazi submarine from the Russians, so a team, half british, half russian, will go fashion style, diving in another submarine, hiding from the russian army and trying to find this treasure (millions of dollars in gold). The premise sounds perfect for an adventure quest or a war saga placed in a submarine but instead we get an effective thriller, nerve braking, that will prove that old formulas still work with a good direction.

The submarine just serves to place the set as a claustrophobic environment where there's no place to hide or go to, everyone in there is trapped, forced to deal with everyone and fight to survive if want to make it through. But what happen when you mix two different cultures forced to work together in order to get the same benefit? Will they cooperate as equals or differences will emerge?

It's all about money. Ambitions. Insecurities. No one trust anyone and when a team is divided by inherent cultures and language barriers they will come to the surface as boats in the sea. When you are at war you make alliances and fight to survive and defend your nation. when you are not, everyone has their own agenda and will fight for their own benefit and even if team work is needed that can only see what is best for their own.

Watching this group of men trying to achieve their goal, like any heist movie, rooting for the bad guys to get the money and hoping they will turn into a better men makes us believe that things will be ok. That things can be easier if we are able to put our judgments on the side and just focus on our job to make this happen. But thats just an ideal as it is to become a millionaire. And we are willing to do it, thats why they keep us rooting for them and sweating at our seat for 2 hrs but in reality we can get as blind as they are once they get stuck under the ocean with no more than their own motivations: family, money, a better life, vengeance from the people that played you, ideals, or your own monsters, so when all this collide there is no money can stop chaos or feeling that calm the explosion that is about to happen unless you face the end of the road and be able to finally see, the last chance to do the right thing
